Ford F-150 Recalls Cover Front Seats and Gauge Displays
Two separate Ford F-150 recalls require different next steps for owners. One concerns front seats that may not be properly secured to the truck; its repair is available. The other involves analog instrument-cluster needles that can stick or move erratically; Ford expects that remedy in December 2026. Checking the campaign number matters because the affected model years, vehicle populations and repair schedules are different.

Which F-150s are covered?
Ford filed both campaigns with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on October 6. The seat campaign covers certain 2025–2027 F-150s, while the instrument-cluster campaign includes certain 2026 F-150s. Neither applies automatically to every truck from those years.
| Campaign | F-150 scope | Repair status |
|---|---|---|
| 26S74 / NHTSA 26V655 | 2,276 certain 2025–2027 trucks | Seat-bolt inspection and correction available |
| 26C46 / NHTSA 26V653 | 10,570 certain 2026 trucks | Cluster replacement anticipated in December |
Front-seat bolts: the repair is available
Ford’s 26V655 recall filing identifies 2,276 potentially affected F-150s built from August 25, 2025, through September 23, 2026. The driver or passenger front seat-to-body bolts may be missing or may not be fully seated and properly secured.
A front seat that is not securely attached can affect how the occupant is restrained in a crash, increasing injury risk. Ford describes possible warning signs as movement felt by the person in the seat or noise from an unsecured seat. Those symptoms do not replace a VIN check, and the absence of a noticeable symptom does not establish that a truck is outside the campaign.
The October owner letter says the remedy and parts are available. Dealers will inspect the driver and passenger seat-to-body bolts and tighten or replace them as needed, without charge. The letter asks owners to contact their dealer without delay and provide their VIN when arranging recall 26S74.
NHTSA’s current campaign record says owner letters were mailed October 16. That is a completed mailing date, rather than the later October notification window projected in the original filing. Ford’s owner letter says it has not issued stop-driving instructions for this campaign and asks owners to arrange the repair as soon as practicable.
Instrument cluster: certain 2026 F-150s need a replacement
The separate 26V653 filing concerns analog instrument clusters. Their speedometer or tachometer needles may stick or move erratically, producing inaccurate readings. A speedometer that does not communicate the truck’s actual speed can increase crash risk.
For F-150 owners, the documented population is 10,570 model-year 2026 trucks built from August 22, 2025, through May 12, 2026. The campaign’s larger 102,159-vehicle total also includes certain 2025–2026 F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550 and F-600 Super Duty trucks, plus one 2026 F-750. It is not a count of F-150s alone.
NHTSA’s October 19 acknowledgment says dealers will replace the instrument-cluster module free of charge. Interim notification letters are expected October 26, with further letters once the remedy is ready, anticipated in December. That makes the cluster campaign different from the seat recall: an announced repair does not mean replacement parts are already available for every affected truck.
The filing notes that a driver with a redundant digital speed display may notice disagreement between the two readings. That is a possible symptom described in the report, rather than an instruction to use another display as a substitute for the repair.
Check the VIN and keep the campaigns separate
Use Ford’s official recall lookup or ask a Ford dealer to check the truck’s VIN. Give the dealer both campaign numbers if you are checking both issues, and confirm which action is open and whether its remedy is currently available. Ford’s recall assistance number listed in the documents is 1-866-436-7332.
Do not add the two F-150 counts into a single affected-truck total. The documents do not establish whether any VINs overlap. A completed repair for one campaign also should not be treated as confirmation that the other action has been addressed. The useful distinction is the exact open campaign on the individual truck.
Campaign details and repair timing checked against NHTSA records on October 20, 2026. Recall populations and remedy availability can change as manufacturers update their records.
