2027 Volkswagen Atlas Prices: Trims, AWD and Destination
2027 Atlas pricing
Updated October 16, 2026
The 2027 Volkswagen Atlas starts at $43,135 after adding the manufacturer’s $1,525 destination charge to the SE front-wheel-drive model’s $41,610 MSRP. That is a useful comparison number, but it is still short of a buyer’s final bill. Volkswagen’s July 20 U.S. pricing announcement separates trim, drivetrain and options; keeping those pieces separate makes the lineup much easier to compare.

2027 Atlas prices, with destination included
| Trim and drivetrain | Base MSRP | With destination |
|---|---|---|
| SE FWD | $41,610 | $43,135 |
| SE 4Motion AWD | $43,610 | $45,135 |
| SE with Technology FWD | $45,610 | $47,135 |
| SE with Technology AWD | $47,610 | $49,135 |
| SEL R-Line AWD | $52,110 | $53,635 |
| SEL Premium R-Line AWD | $56,610 | $58,135 |
AWD adds $2,000 to either SE configuration and is standard on both SEL trims. Moving from SE to SE with Technology adds $4,000 when comparing the same drivetrain. The common destination charge does not change either difference.
These totals exclude taxes, title, accessory installation, other options and dealer charges. Volkswagen says the dealer sets the actual price and describes the announcement’s specifications as preliminary and subject to change. A written quote for a particular vehicle remains the place to check the equipment, selling price and additional charges together.
What the next trim actually adds
The SE already includes a power liftgate, rear sunshades, heated and ventilated front seats, three-zone automatic climate control and dual wireless phone charging. Its center screen is 12.9 inches; the configurable instrument display is a separate 10.25-inch unit.
SE with Technology brings a 15-inch center display, 20-inch wheels and a factory trailer hitch, among other changes. For that trim, Volkswagen lists a $1,200 panoramic sunroof option and $695 second-row captain’s chairs. Choosing both adds $1,895 before any associated taxes or charges: an SE with Technology FWD with those two options totals $49,030 including destination.
The SEL R-Line includes AWD and a panoramic sunroof, then adds leather seating surfaces, a head-up display and heated and ventilated second-row outboard seats. SEL Premium R-Line adds Nappa leather, front-seat massage, upgraded audio and the Area View camera system. Captain’s chairs remain a $695 option on either SEL.
Compare the seating and connected features, too
A second-row bench and optional captain’s chairs create different ways to use the cabin. Before choosing the option, check the actual seating layout, access to the third row and the space needed for your passengers and belongings. A trim name alone does not show which optional seats were ordered.
The announcement also includes a three-month In-Vehicle Premium connected-services trial. Continuing those services requires a paid subscription after the included period, and availability depends on compatible equipment and connectivity. A larger screen and an included trial are different purchases; check which functions you expect to keep using.
The most useful price comparison is therefore a matched one: same drivetrain, required seating layout, chosen options and clearly itemized charges. The Atlas price ladder shows what each step costs. Whether those additions are worth paying for depends on the features you will actually use.
