Toyota And Lexus Display Recall Adds Software Check
Recall explained
A Toyota and Lexus instrument-display recall concerns warnings that may be missing from the driver’s combination meter. Campaign 26V341 covers certain vehicles across four model lines, with a software remedy rather than an instruction to replace every display. The current record now reports owner letters mailed July 23, 2026, updating the original notification timing.

Which vehicles are listed?
The current NHTSA campaign data lists 81,893 potentially involved U.S. vehicles. Its individual model-year entries give a more precise starting point than the broad phrase “Toyota and Lexus display recall.”
| Model | Listed model year or years |
|---|---|
| Lexus GX | 2024 |
| Lexus UX Hybrid | 2025 |
| Toyota Mirai | 2024 |
| Toyota Land Cruiser Hybrid | 2024–2025 |
Toyota’s campaign identifiers are 26LB06, 26LA06, 26TB10 and 26TA10. Keep the number associated with the actual VIN in the service record. Shared names or similar-looking dashboards do not extend this campaign to other models or years.
The concern is missing safety information
In its May 27 U.S. announcement, Toyota explained that portions of the 12.3-inch combination-meter display could become blank during startup. Some warnings or indicators would then be unavailable. Continued driving without those warnings could delay the driver’s response to a problem and increase crash or injury risk.
The combination meter is the driver’s instrument display. A working entertainment screen or a successful phone connection does not demonstrate that the affected warning-display software has been updated. Record which display had the problem and what was missing, rather than reporting only that “the screen stopped working.”
A normal startup on one occasion is also different from a campaign completion record. The recall addresses a condition that may occur; it is not limited to owners who can reproduce it during a service visit. If essential information is absent, follow the vehicle’s instructions and contact Toyota or Lexus for guidance rather than repeatedly restarting the vehicle to dismiss the concern.
Confirm how the software remedy reaches the vehicle
The listed repair is a combination-meter software update at no charge. The public sources describe different delivery methods: NHTSA’s current recall entry describes an over-the-air update, while Toyota’s original U.S. announcement directs owners to return to a dealer. Confirm the current instructions for the actual VIN before assuming the update will arrive at home.
For an owner, the useful next step is to confirm the applicable process for the VIN through the manufacturer. Do not assume that a routine infotainment download has completed this recall, or that leaving the vehicle connected automatically installs the required combination-meter software. Ask what action is needed and how completion will be recorded.
Toyota’s official recall and service-campaign lookup covers Toyota, Lexus and Scion vehicles within its stated market scope. It provides the brand contact details as well as the search. Toyota customer care is 800-331-4331; the same official page lists Lexus customer care at 800-255-3987. No individual VIN was submitted for this article.
Keep the current result and the completed-work record
The original announcement anticipated notifications by late July. The current federal record says letters were mailed July 23. A notification date, however, cannot establish that a particular vehicle has received the software.
Use the NHTSA VIN lookup alongside the manufacturer record. NHTSA distinguishes a VIN search for unrepaired recalls from a general model search; already repaired campaigns are not shown as open items. Save the dated result and obtain a completion document identifying the VIN, campaign and software work.
For a used vehicle, ask the seller to reconcile any difference between its paperwork and the current lookup. A claim that the dashboard works is an observation about that moment. A campaign-specific completion record answers whether the prescribed recall action was performed.
