Shoppers often search for the largest tire manufacturer in the world or the company that sells the most tires. The useful answer requires context: manufacturers report in different currencies, operate different non-tire businesses, and do not all publish tire-only revenue or unit volume in the same way.
This guide compares current, company-reported 2025 results from Michelin, Bridgestone, Goodyear, Continental, and Sumitomo Rubber. It is a sales snapshot, not a one-to-one global ranking.

What the sales figures do and do not tell you
Michelin
Michelin reported €26.0 billion in 2025 Group sales. It remains one of the world’s most recognized tire manufacturers across passenger, truck, specialty, aircraft, and motorsport applications. Because Michelin also reports non-tire activities, the Group figure is broader than tire revenue alone.
Bridgestone
Bridgestone reported ¥4,429.452 billion in FY2025 consolidated revenue from continuing operations. Its portfolio spans passenger and commercial tires, original-equipment relationships, replacement products, and mobility solutions. The consolidated figure should not be treated as a tire-only number.
Goodyear
Goodyear reported $18.3 billion in 2025 net sales and 158.7 million tire units. The unit figure is especially useful because it provides scale without currency conversion, although 2025 results were affected by the sale of the Off-the-Road tire and Chemical businesses and the Dunlop brand transaction.
Continental
Continental reported €13.798 billion in 2025 sales specifically for its Tires group sector. The company said 76% of Tires-sector sales related to the replacement-tire business, making this one of the clearest tire-focused figures in the group.
Sumitomo Rubber Industries
Sumitomo Rubber reported ¥1,043.683 billion in 2025 Tire Business revenue and 97 million total tire sales. Its tire brands include Dunlop and Falken, with products serving passenger, commercial, and specialty applications.
Does the largest manufacturer make the best tire for every vehicle?
No. Manufacturer scale can support research, production, distribution, and warranty coverage, but it does not decide the best tire for one vehicle. The right choice depends on tire size, load rating, speed rating, climate, driving habits, expected mileage, road noise, wet-weather performance, and budget.
Before replacing tires, check tread depth, sidewall condition, age, pressure, alignment wear, and whether the vehicle needs rotation or balancing. A tire that matches the vehicle and the driver’s use is more important than a brand’s total annual sales.
