2027 Toyota Prius Pricing Sharpens Hybrid Cost Math
Toyota has released 2027 Prius and Prius Plug-in Hybrid details, giving shoppers a clearer view of hybrid pricing, efficiency and feature packaging before the models arrive later this summer. Toyota’s 2027 Prius announcement lists regular Prius pricing from $28,755 before the $1,295 dealer processing and handling fee.
The regular Prius continues with front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive choices. Toyota says the LE front-wheel-drive model has an EPA-estimated 55 mpg combined rating, while the LE all-wheel-drive model is rated at an EPA-estimated 53 mpg combined. Toyota also says the 2027 Prius adds standard dual-zone HVAC and a new Inked exterior color.
The plug-in version adds another layer to the comparison. Toyota’s Prius Plug-in Hybrid release says the SE grade has an EPA-estimated 44-mile all-electric range and a 51 mpg combined rating in hybrid mode. Toyota lists its base MSRP at $33,980 before the same $1,295 fee.
How To Compare Hybrid Value
For many shoppers, the key question is not whether the Prius is efficient. It is which version fits the daily routine. A regular hybrid is simple to own because it refuels like a gas vehicle and uses the hybrid system automatically. A plug-in hybrid can reduce gasoline use when the driver can charge consistently, but the extra price only makes sense when the driving pattern supports it.
Cars.com’s pricing report put the regular Prius at $30,050 with destination and the Prius Plug-in Hybrid at $35,275 with destination. Cars.com also noted that the 2027 Prius returns up to 55 mpg combined and the plug-in version can travel up to 44 miles on electric power before operating as a hybrid.

A clean used hybrid with good maintenance records may reduce payment pressure, while a new model may offer the latest safety, infotainment and warranty coverage. Shoppers can compare used vehicle options with new-model pricing to see whether the feature and warranty differences justify the gap.
